Directed and co-produced by Clint Eastwood, Mystic River is simply an outstanding film with an ensemble cast acting at their collective peaks. A film adaption of the novel by the same by Dennis Lehane, the emotional picture that this film paints is both vivid and dark, with the tale of lost innocence and lost love bringing out exceptional performances from Sean Penn and Tim Robbins, who won the Academy Award for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor respectively for their roles in the film. An outstanding film from a hugely talented director and an equally talented group of actors.
